Artist Statement

 

For my sculptural works: 

My extensive time spent in both metropolitan environments and remote landscapes has profoundly affected my perspective on the world and our place in it.  Driven by my empathy and appreciation for nature, my artwork acts as an interrogation of modern life.  Ecology, archeology, and paleontology help inform my exploration of a wide range of social topics that provoke an internal reflection of humankind’s fate.

I also enjoy making functional ceramics with a twist.  As a glass artist, I enjoy incorporating glass components into my thrown and carved vessels.
