
Evan Hobart

Evan Hobart was introduced to clay as a young child in 1993 through a ceramics after-school art program with Barbara Andino-Stevenson in the San Geronimo Valley of West Marin, California.
He earned his Bachelor of Arts from Humboldt State University in 2004, studying under Keith Schneider, Jim Crawford, and Louis Marak. In 2011, he completed his Master of Fine Arts at San José State University, working with Stan Welsh and Monica Van den Dool.
Most recently, Evan taught art at a high school in Petaluma, where he built and developed the ceramics program through grant writing and community support. Prior to that, he served as an adjunct professor at Mendocino College for seven years while also working as the Ceramics Program Manager at the Mendocino Art Center. He has additionally taught ceramics at San José State University, College of Marin, Medicine Hat Community College, and through private classes at Sweet Spirit Ceramics Studio in San Rafael, California. From 2011 to 2012, Evan was an Artist in Residence at Medalta in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada.
Evan’s work has been exhibited throughout the United States and Canada and is included in many private collections across the United States. He currently maintains a home studio, where he creates flame-work glass art, ceramics, and watercolor paintings.
